Qatar supports established family policies to achieve societal security
The State of Qatar stressed the importance of concerted international efforts in supporting established family policies, stressing that it places maintaining family cohesion at the top of its crucial priorities, especially at a time when the family system faces many challenges.
This came in a statement delivered by Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, during her participation in a ministerial discussion session held on the sidelines of the Budapest Demographic Summit in its fifth edition, held over two days, and which concludes its work today, Friday, in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
During her speech, Her Excellency also affirmed that she is honored to represent His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, at the fifth Budapest Demographic Summit, where Her Excellency praised the Hungarian initiative in seeking to achieve the desired goal of creating healthy, safe and productive societies.
During her speech, she stressed that the State of Qatar is always keen to preserve the family system in the country, noting that the first official family policies were approved in the sixties of the last century, and revolved around implementing government housing laws and providing housing loans, and policies for working mothers to ensure that families are encouraged to engage in the institution of marriage, childbearing, and stability.
Her Excellency pointed out that the interest of the wise leadership in Qatar in the family was strengthened in the year 2021 through the establishment of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, which she confirmed that she is honored to chair with the aim of strengthening the family institution at the national, regional and international levels.
The participants in the fifth edition of the Budapest Demographic Summit, including heads of states and governments and representatives of relevant international organizations, seek to contribute to proposing and supporting established family policies, as the most important nucleus of all societal and national security frameworks and strategies for countries towards negative behavioral phenomena, especially in the fields of organized crime and terrorism, instability, loss of national identity, and other current challenges.
