MSDF Concludes Digital Skills Program for Home-Grown Business Owners

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, concluded its digital skills training program for home-grown business owners in collaboration with TeKnowledge Company. A closing ceremony was held at the Digital Center in Msheireb, where participating trainees were honored.

The initiative to train home-grown business owners in digital and business management skills is a comprehensive and specialized program designed by TeKnowledge for home-grown and small businesses. It aims to significantly enhance digital and business management skills, to increase operational efficiency and overall productivity. The program offers two distinct tracks, each designed to empower individuals in their entrepreneurial journey. Together, these tracks provide a comprehensive learning experience for creating successful ventures.

The training program, which ran from early April to the end of May this year, included twelve home-grown business owners. It provided sessions from both the digital learning track and the business management skills track, aiming to empower budding entrepreneurs at various stages of their entrepreneurial journey. This included assisting them in developing entrepreneurial ideas and providing essential skills, as well as enhancing the efficiency of existing businesses to enable their growth and increased profits.

Participants also received the necessary support and resources to help them overcome challenges and make informed decisions, ensuring their continued growth and success.

This program was implemented as part of an integrated package of initiatives supporting home-grown businesses and striving for their local and international expansion. This is achieved by providing well-researched training and marketing services, educational plans and programs in collaboration with TeKnowledge Company.

This process begins with training business owners on developing a marketing plan and preparing spreadsheets to calculate project profits and costs, ensuring continuity. It also involves identifying weaknesses in product marketing and improving its quality to increase demand, all through the application of a developmental training plan.

Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Family Empowerment Department, stated that holding such training programs stems from the Ministry's commitment to developing the capabilities of Home-Grown Projects owners and providing them with the opportunity to learn the necessary skills to keep pace with modern requirements. It also aims to support entrepreneurial initiatives and enable their growth and success.

In its diligent pursuit of driving national development, the Ministry continues to support sustainable development and achieve the social development pillar goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 by empowering small and medium-sized business owners and enhancing their capabilities through training programs that ensure their growth in an innovative entrepreneurial environment.
