MSDF, Al-Mujadilah sign MoU to launch awareness campaigns on female role models in Islam
The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) and Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch awareness campaigns focusing on female role models in Islam. This initiative is a core project under the MSDF Strategy 2025–2030.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and Founder of Al-Mujadilah, and HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, with the participation of senior officials from both sides.
The agreement stems from the Ministry’s mandates under Amiri Decree No. (57) of 2021, which includes implementing national policies for family care and social cohesion in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. This collaboration also aligns with the mission of Al-Mujadilah, established in 2024, to empower women socially and intellectually while enhancing their active roles in the community.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to highlighting the historical contributions of Muslim women to peace, development, and society. HE the Minister of Social Development and Family emphasized that this cooperation is a key initiative of the Third National Development Strategy, aiming to foster women’s confidence by showcasing inspiring leaders from Islamic history and the modern era.
The upcoming campaigns will be based on extensive global research into Islamic intellectual history. They seek to produce authentic content for the contemporary woman, fostering pride in Islamic identity and correcting stereotypes. By bridging the gap between generations, the project aims to integrate traditional values with modern aspirations to build a conscious and responsible future generation.
