Minister of Social Development at the "Women, Peace and Security" Forum: Qatar believes in supporting women in conflict zones
The State of Qatar participated in the first edition of the "Women, Peace and Security Forum", which was held in Pristina, the capital of the Republic of Kosovo, under the title "Building Sustainable Peace Alliances".
Her Excellency, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, represented the State of Qatar in the forum. She stressed in the forum Qatar’s support for the efforts to enhance political and economic participation of women in conflict zones and post-conflict reconstruction, based on Qatar’s belief that women need to be supported to achieve peace and economic growth, and to overcome social and economic challenges.
In her speech at the forum delivered via video conference, Her Excellency affirmed the efforts made by the State of Qatar to promote women's economic empowerment and their participation in peace and security affairs at all levels.
The "Women, Peace and Security" Forum, in its first edition, witnessed the presence of a number of their Excellencies and Highnesses, Heads of State and Government Ministers, as wall as academics and representatives of international organizations and civil society organizations.
